I was recently trawling through the files of Wikimedia Commons and found this image of a historic moment in the development nuclear energy. The photograph is of the first production of usable nuclear electricity at Idaho National Laboratory, December 20, 1951; four light bulbs were lit with electricity generated from a reactor known as the EBR-1. A great moment for mankind? If you were a light-bulb, a great claim to fame! File under Q, for quirky.
